Google Tag Manager lets you manage and deploy tracking tags on your website without editing code directly. This guide walks you through exactly where to paste your GTM code snippet so that it starts working right away.

Before you start

You'll want to be logged in as an Admin into Jane Websites and you should have your Google Tag Manager code snippet ready to copy. You can take a look at Google's guide on Finding your GTM code snippet here.

How to Add Google Tag Manager to Your Website

The Sitewide JS + SEO section is where you'll paste your Google Tag Manager code. This area supports longer code snippets like GTM, Meta Pixels, and other tracking scripts. Follow the steps below to navigate to that correct section of Jane Websites.

  1. After logging into your Jane Websites account, select Admin > Settings in the top right corner of your site.
  2. Click Sitewide JS + SEO on the left-hand menu.
  3. Paste your Google Tag Manager code snippet into the field provided. Google will direct you if it's going into the <head> tag or </body> tag.
  4. Click the Save SEO button to save your progress.

That's all there is to it! Your Google Tag Manager code is now live on your site, and any tags you configure inside your GTM account will begin firing as expected.

Note

The Sitewide JS + SEO section supports Google Tag Manager, Meta Pixels, and other longer code snippets. If you're looking to add a GA4 tracking ID specifically, use the Google Analytics field in Settings instead.
