How to add a pop-up form to Jane Websites

Your mailing list is a direct way to stay in touch with clients and keep them coming back. Adding an email signup popup to your website makes it easy for visitors to subscribe without leaving your page. This guide walks you through how to grab your popup embed code from your email marketing provider and add it to your website using a custom code block or from Sitewide JS+SEO.

 

How to Get Your Popup Embed Code

The first step is to copy the embed code from your email marketing provider. The exact steps will vary depending on which platform you use, but the process is similar across most providers.

1. Log in to your email marketing account (for example, Mailchimp or CyberImpact).
2. Navigate to the popup or signup form you want to add to your site.
3. Look for an option labelled Embed, Share, or Get Code.
4. Copy the full embed code provided. It will typically start with a script tag.

How to Install Your Popup on a Specific Page

Once you have your embed code, you'll paste it into a custom code block on Jane Websites.

1. Log in to the Admin side of your Jane Websites site.
2. Navigate to the page where you want to add the popup, or go to the Home page that loads on every visit.
3. Click the Add Block Plus Icon to add a new block to the page.
4. Select the Custom Code block from the block options.
5. Click the Pencil icon and paste your popup embed code into the code field.
6. Click Update Block button to save your progress.
7. Optional: Once your code is added, you'll want to adjust the block's sizing so it doesn't take up unnecessary space on your page. To start, click Edit Block on the right-hand side.
8. Set the height to Minimum (5).
9. Set the vertical padding to None.

How to Install Your Popup Site Wide

Once you have your embed code, you'll paste it into the Sitewide JS+SEO area in Jane Websites.

1. Log in to the Admin side of your Jane Websites site, and click Admin > Settings in the top right corner.
2. In the left hand menu, select Sitewide JS + SEO.
3. Scroll to the Content inside </body> tag content area.
4. Paste your embedded code into the body tag. 
5. Click the Save SEO button to save your progress. 

You're good to go! Your email signup popup is now live on your site. When patients visit your page, the popup will appear and invite them to join your mailing list, helping you grow your list and stay connected with your community.
